CPD-13 Members It
is out of an abundance of caution that the decision has been made to
cancel our regular March meeting scheduled for March 24th at Cambridge
Village, this all being due to the Covid19 virus that is becoming more
widespread. This is also in line with the recent Governor's
Declaration of Emergency that visitations to retirement centers by the
general public be curtailed. Although the numbers of active cases
locally are relatively low, the potential for this virus to quickly
become widespread given its capability to exist on surfaces up to 9 days
is disconcerting. Equally disconcerting is that some individuals may
not exhibit any symptoms yet are highly contagious. This
notice is not a surrender to hysteria, but sound Public Health
containment measures. Public Health Officials are emphasizing the need
for best personal hygiene practices, especially the frequent washing of
hands as an easy means to stop the spread of the virus.
Self-isolation will also stop the spread of the virus if you believe you
have come in possible contact with the virus. For the most part,
affected individuals will recover without any problems, the biggest
threat is to those who have underlying health issues. Everyone's
cooperation is vital. Thanks for you cooperation John Sokash, Superintendent CPD-13, MER-NMRA |
